Sportsman Adventure - Hunts
Spread among the mountains and mesas of northeastern New Mexico, Philmont welcomes you to our Sportsman Adventure, big game hunting. Since the 1940’s we’ve been offering guided, invitational hunts to those actively involved in Scouting. Sportsmen are considered upon recommendation from a local council Scout Executive. Once reviewed and if approved, Sportsmen will receive an application to hunt. Applications must be accompanied by a deposit. If successful in the draw, Sportsmen will receive a letter of acceptance. If unsuccessful, Philmont will refund the deposit and Sportsmen will remain on the mailing list for future hunts.

Philmont has various hunting dates available for our busy hunters. We offer three elk hunts for 36 hunters and one four day trophy deer hunt for 20 hunters. We also offer four antelope hunts with two hunters each hunt. Bear hunts have specific dates and lion hunts run year around. No matter what schedule you may have we have a hunt date available for you!

Fees
Sportsman Adventure fees include room and board, a guide, vehicle, skinners, packers, and meat processing. There are no individual charges and charges will not be proroated each day. Come to Philmont Scout Ranch and get your chance to experience a lifetime adventure!
