Meet PTC!

2012-06-25 - Contingent Crews

Mix 'n' Match

Sometimes troops cannot meet the required number of participants for a crew trek in Philmont’s backcountry. This is where Contingent Crews come in. Contingent Crews consist of members from multiple troops that are guided by leaders who are designated by the contingent crew’s Council. Contingent Crews offer Scouts a chance to embrace a different group dynamic than the one they are familiar with and make new friends to share the Philmont wilderness with!

2012-06-18 - Logistics

This is Logistics. Over.

Logistics operates as the eyes and ears of Philmont. Here, staff give a thorough overview of treks with crews as well as coordinate transport for crews and staff into the backcountry and airports. To top things off Logistics is responsible for radio communications between over 400 Philmont radios. Logistics is a vital resource that keeps Philmont running smoothly and safely all summer long.
