Each summer thousands of Scouts travel by Amtrak to Philmont via the Raton, NM station. The train has been viewed as a safe and educational experience for Scouts.
From February 13th to February 17th, Amtrak is running a buy one get one free promotion for any ticket used between March 9th and August 30th! Philmont does offer a shuttle service from the Raton station. Crews can reserve this shuttle through the Philmont Roster Gateway. Families attending the Philmont Training Center can reserve this shuttle here.
