Philmont Scout Ranch is opening its trails for a second annual trail race that welcomes the running and scouting communities to enjoy the pristine wilderness of the Sangre De Cristo mountains. Distances will include a Tooth Ridge Sprint (8 miles), Heavy Half (18 miles), Marathon and 50 Mile through the south country of Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. All courses will finish down the iconic Tooth of Time Ridge and through the famous “You Made It!” gate in Philmont’s Base Camp.

Philmont Scout Ranch is a 140,000 acre high adventure camp owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America with over 300 miles of trails. Philmont’s main program challenges and educates scouts of 13 to 21 years of age through 7, 9, and 12-day backpacking treks, where they participate in activities such as climbing, shooting, living history, fishing and much more.

"Nothing worthwhile was ever accomplished without the will to start, the enthusiasm to continue and, regardless of temporary obstacles, the persistence to complete."
