Scouting Relationships Advocate
This course, which is designed for all Volunteer and Career Scouters with Units, Districts, Councils, Territories, and National, will present the fundamentals of relationships, how these relationships interact to change lives, and explore the many components of connections which impact Scouting in positive ways leading to growth.
In this course, participants will study:
- What it means to change lives.
- The value of relationships in changing lives and growing Scouting.
- The psychological aspects of relationships among people.
- The psychological needs of youth and adults.
- The progression from being known, then liked, then trusted.
- The trust imperative.
- Volunteer emotional fulfillment.
- Dealing with conflict.
- The two most important relationships in all of Scouting.
- The aspects of Scouting leadership where relationships should be developed.
- Developing effective volunteer and professional relationships.
- International relationships.
- Alumni relationships.
- Community relationships.
By the end of the course, participants will work on an individual “Bucket List” specific to their positions with the overall goal to grow Scouting within Units, Districts, and Councils.

Conference Fee: $395 plus housing
