Registration for the Philmont Training Center and BSA Family Adventure Camp is now open! Book your 2020 Philmont Adventure as soon as possible so you can spend part of your summer at the BSA’s premier national training center.
There are more than 50 different week-long conferences available over more than 10 weeks during the summer. Since 1950, the Philmont Training Center has provided a unique environment for training volunteers and professionals, creating leaders and hosting family friendly adventures. Conferences feature the latest tools, techniques, audiovisuals, discussions, idea-sharing and activities led by a faculty of experienced Scouters selected by the National Council. BSA Family Adventure Camp will be available all summer long. The program is a chance for families to experience Philmont Scout Ranch like never before. Open to all registered members of the BSA and their families, you will have the chance to visit Philmont and participate in program with the members of your family. Choose between a variety of programs, including hiking, shooting, crafts, horseback riding, COPE, fly fishing and more. Together, you’re sure to make memories that will last a lifetime! LEARN MORE
Brand-new in 2020 is Philmont’s Backcountry Sneak Peak program. Designed for those who are 13 or older, accompanied by an adult, the program gives you a taste of what a backcountry trek is like. Hiking trips will be held throughout the week and will get longer and more challenging as time goes on. At the end of the week, participants will spend a night in the backcountry. During the week, participants will learn about various Philmont practices, such as hanging bear bags, using a gas stove, setting up a dining fly and more. Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy other adventures before or after their day hikes. Some of the choices include touring the National Scouting Museum, visiting the shooting range or the craft center and more. LEARN MORE
