Philmont Ambassador Experience

You have spent time in the classroom at the Philmont Training Center learning about the Conferences, Family Adventure Program, individual and crew treks and the second season programs. You have learned advanced presentation and display techniques and used your knowledge and experience to put together a small group presentation. But there must be more, right?  There is! Welcome to the Philmont Ambassador Experience.

During our week together, we will learn how to plan for and execute a council retreat or a conference (scouting affiliated or non-scouting affiliated) at the PTC, immerse yourself in a highlight reel of what a backcountry crew experiences both in basecamp AND overnight in the backcountry, give back to Philmont by volunteering at the PTC or at basecamp, and participate in the Family Adventure program firsthand.  We will also learn how to use our backcountry crew experiences to better help crews prepare for future Philmont treks.

To attend the Philmont Ambassador Experience, you must be a currently approved Philmont Ambassador who has completed the Ambassador I Seminar, and have parts A, B, and C of the Health and Medical Record completed. Because we will be spending a night in the backcountry, participants attending without a spouse/other adult are unable to bring youth to participate in the Conference Youth Program.

Conference Dates: June 23 – 29

Conference Fee: $330 plus housing
