Ambassador Overview
Philmont Ambassadors are an integral part of the Philmont Team. The primary goal of the Ambassador is to attract participants to the programs offered by the Philmont Scout Ranch. The Ambassadors become the voice of the Philmont Scout Ranch to the volunteers of their CST and local Council. The programs offered by the Philmont Scout ranch are numerous and range from the Family Adventure Camp to traditional conferences and treks. Representing the Philmont Scout Ranch is achieved through one-on-one contacts as well as presentations and displays at unit, district, council, and Council Service Territory (CST) events.
Apply To Be a Philmont Ambassador
First, submit an application to the Philmont Training Center Director. Appointments of Ambassadors will be made by the Philmont Training Center Director with approval of the applicant’s local council Scout Executive. Applicants must have attended at least one PTC Conference, served on a PTC faculty, participated in one Philmont Trek, or served on Philmont staff within five (5) years of submitting the Ambassador Application, earning the Master Track Knot is a plus. The appointment is for three years, and re-appointment is determined by the Philmont Training Center Director. Please review the position description before applying. Accepting the expected perfomance goals is a must.
Ambassador Nametags
Philmont provides nametags to each Ambassador that attends an Ambassador Seminar. While we appreciate Ambassadors attending other Philmont programs (Treks, Conferences, etc.), only nametags will be provided for participants attending a current year Seminar. Replacement nametags are not available.
