Trail Crew Trek

June 12 - August 7

Trail Crew Trek

Trail Crew Trek (TCT) is a 14-day co-ed program focused on conservation project facilitation and personal leadership development. Participants will work with Philmont Staff to complete trail and camp projects while taking part in the classic backcountry experiences that Philmont is known for. Throughout the duration of the program, participants will gain experience and learn the soft skills needed to plan and facilitate a project outside of Philmont. The TCT program teaches these skills not only through the physical work, but also through lessons and events with Conservation professionals from Philmont and the surrounding area. TCT provides a strong foundation for any Scout interested in conducting any type of project at the local level.

Spend 14 days living and working in Philmont’s high country as part of the Philmont Conservation Department. TCT is designed to teach participants how to plan and facilitate conservation projects in their local communities. TCT Crews are given a unique itinerary that combines work projects, program, and lessons from Natural Resource Professionals. Crew members are expected to work hard and question the how and why of the world around them in order to learn as much as possible during their time at the Ranch.

Who May Participate?

To be able to participate in the Trail Crew Trek, participants must meet the following requirements:
