To continue to positively impact the lives of young people and their Scouting leaders through inspiring and effective delivery of the finest Scouting possible through backcountry adventures and Training Center experiences is the vision of Philmont Scout Ranch. Philmont receives many donations from all over the country from those who have had the opportunity to experience Scouting Paradise in God’s Country and wants to share that opportunity with others. Please complete the application below to be considered for one of the many scholarships available to our participants.

Please note that program deposits must be paid before scholarships will be considered.

2026 Scholarship Timeline: Scholarship application opens January 2026, Scholarships must be submitted for the 2026 season by 11:59pm on April 15th, Scholarships will be awarded between the dates of April 15th and June 1st.

Conference Fees

  • Attendee – See Conference List for course fees (housing paid separate)
  • Family Members – see fees below
  • Lead Faculty – Free (housing booked individually per preference)
  • Adjunct Faculty – $350 (housing booked individually per preference)
  • Conference Week Chair – Free (housing booked individually per preference)
  • National Staff Member – $350 (housing booked individually per preference)

Housing Fees

Guests to the ranch will be able to select their housing as part of the registration process. Housing fees are paid through Newbook after you register for your conference. Conference registration will require a deposit. Housing will be paid in full at time of reservation. Some housing may not be available depending on the week.

The ranch reserves the right to pair guests without family members with another single guest to maximize attendance.

Philmont Scout Ranch and Training Center Cancellation/Refund Policy

We understand that sometimes unexpected circumstances arise, and plans must change. Due to the significant advance planning required for a Philmont adventure, all fees paid are non-refundable. If a cancellation becomes necessary, please notify us as soon as possible.

Refunds may be considered under the following circumstances:

  • Military Deployment:                 100% refund
  • Death of a First-Degree Relative: 100% refund
  • Medical Exclusions Upon Arrival: 50% refund or transfer to PTC program if space is available. PTC Horse Rides and PTC Tooth of Time Hike 100% 

Refund Request Procedures

  • Refund requests must be submitted prior to the arrival date of your trek or PTC program. Requests received after this date cannot be considered.
  • To request a refund, please email the following information:
    1. Participant’s name
    2. Crew number (e.g., 609-A) or PTC conference/adventure/program name
    3. Reason for cancellation and any supporting documentation
    4. Contact information for follow-up
  • For trek refunds: email Philmont.camping@scouting.org
  • For PTC refunds: email Philmont.trainingcenter@scouting.org

Once a refund request is approved, you will receive notification.  Philmont submits the refunds to the National Office of Scouting America.  For trek reservations, a check will be issued to the unit that made the payment. For Philmont Training Center programs, refunds are returned to the individual in the same form as the original payment (credit card refunds are returned to the card; check payments are refunded by check). Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for processing a refund.

Philmont does not refund crews or Training Center guests for canceled flights or ground transportation and strongly recommends trip insurance.
